Meet the Team

Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club Staff

We’re sure some of you might recognise these familiar faces from Lanhydrock, but we thought we would take the opportunity whilst we are temporarily closed to introduce you more fully to some of our amazing team – many of which have been here for years!

We thought we would start with an obvious one…

Clare & Graham Bond
Directors

Describe what your job role is at Lanhydrock and how long you have worked here:

The family purchased what was formerly Bodmin Golf & Country Club in 1993 and immediately constructed a new clubhouse and began transforming the site into the one we know and love today. Since day one Clare and Graham have been very hands-on in the day to day running of Lanhydrock with Graham overseeing all operations on the Golf Course whilst Clare takes responsibility for the Hotel and Events.

Background:

The Bond family credentials in golf are first rate with Graham’s father Hermon, and his brother Martin, creating the first Jack Nicklaus signature golf course in the UK at St Mellion, Cornwall.

Favourite Location On-Site:

The 13th Green – Clare says, “It feels like you are on top of the world and is worth the walk up!”

Bruce & Basil Bond
Branch Manager & Assistant Branch Manager

Describe what your job role is at Lanhydrock and how long you have worked here:
Bruce joined us in 2015 as an apprentice and through his loyalty, devotion, and outstanding manners, has progressed to become our Branch Manager.
Basil is our newest member of staff having only been recruited as Assistant Branch Manager in December 2019 and unfortunately has already undergone several disciplinaries – despite this, we welcome his addition to the team and look forward to seeing his progress.
Both Bruce & Basil frequently feature on our social media and although they regularly work from home, when on-site their main responsibilities include welcoming visitors to the office, tail wagging, sleeping, and of-course, retrieving golf balls.

Favourite Location On-Site:

Both Bruce & Basil particularly love the 19th pond – perfect for bird watching and a quick dip on the rare occasion they are allowed out on the course!
